Christian Lucena Artist Statement
My artistic journey began early in Venezuela, my home country, where I attended art classes with my dad and sister. What began as an occasional activity for a father and son to share evolved into a lifelong passion of mine. Art became my way of processing the complexities and emotions of the world around me. My work is and will always be intended to inspire; I aim to create art that encourages others to explore their creative paths.
While my artistic style has evolved over the years, nothing quite captivates me like the buttery smooth pigments of oil paint. However, the genesis of all my pieces often starts with pen and paper, usually in my sketchbook or on an occasional napkin.
