24 x 36, Oil on Canvas
This piece is part of a series of four portraits I am creating, both as a way to continue my journey through portrait painting and to harness my artistic voice in communicating the world around me through my art.
A dare in chaos.

Suspicion

Suspicion

Suspicion – 8 x 10 on canvas board
I am continuing to explore portrait painting. I’ve started to interpret my distinctive brushstrokes as a reflection of the busyness of life—the anxiety and chaos of it. I’ve tried to depict this before in my more conceptual pieces, and now I feel it has grown into my technique.

To me, art has always been a way to process the world around me. Portrait painting now feels like a way to do this inwardly—both exciting and terrifying. Either way, I will continue to welcome it.

I’m working on a new series, and this cute little guy is a preparation piece for my next painting. I’m so excited to create more pieces that tie together conceptually. I feel like I’ve settled into a comfortable mold, and now I’m ready to break out of it.

Chameleon – 16 x 20 oil on canvas.

The chameleon is whoever we think we are, yet also the one everyone sees. In between them is where we truly are.

Ive been experimenting with more abstract elements while still trying to somewhat achieve likeness, its still fascinating to me how little information the brain needs to understand something as a face.

Love Conditions – Oil on Canvas, 16 x 20

I started looking through my old camera roll to find some pictures to practice and study with. Although I didn’t come across many photos with good lighting or composition, I did find a connection with some of them, along with a strong urge to tell a story through them. This may be my most personal work yet.

Southern charm – 24 x 36, Oil on Canvas

I’ve finally done it! Portrait painting has always been a goal of mine, and this is the first painting I can confidently and proudly present as a portrait true to my style. I’ve managed to maintain what makes my art unique while also capturing the human likeness I’ve always desired.

I will continue to create work like this, and if this style is something you enjoy, I’d love to start the year by opening up my commissions. While I am mostly looking for personalized portrait clients, I am always open to hearing creative ideas, so feel free to reach out, regardless of the project.
